Services for Children -
Services for Infants, Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Infant Mental Health
This early intervention program, provided by the Elizabeth Upjohn Community Healing Centers, provides intensive homebased services. We work to improve the parent-infant attachment as well as the social, emotional, behavioral and cognitive development of the infant. The goal of our services is to decrease the likelihood of abuse, neglect, developmental delay and behavioral and/or emotional disorders.
Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC)
We provide consultation for parents and child care providers for children less than six years of age who are experiencing behavioral or emotional problems may be at risk of expulsion from the child care setting. In addition to coaching, physical environment modifications and referrals, we provide brief counseling in a crisis situation.
Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation is provided through a grant from the Michigan Department of Community Health. For more information on this program, contact Julie Helmer, ECMH Consultant at 553-8110.
