Services for Persons with Substance Abuse
Working with You
Professional and caring assistance is available for individuals who are experiencing substance abuse issues. Signs of substance abuse issues include:
- Feeling like you should cut down on your drinking or other drug use
- Feeling bad or guilty about your drinking or other drug use
- Taking a drink or using other drugs when you first get up
- A friend of family member has told you things you said or did while you were drinking or using drugs that you could not remember
- Injecting drugs
- Persons under 18 using alcohol or other drugs
Our Services Include:
- Screening, assessment, referral and follow-up
- Therapy (individual and group)
- Detox
- Residential placement
- Methadone maintenance
We Work Closely with:
- Health Care Providers
- Community Providers and Resources
- Treatment Agencies
- Department of Human Services
- Social Security Administration
Who is Eligible
Any individual who needs help with substance abuse, with or without mental health issues and lives within Kalamazoo, Allegan, Cass and St. Joe Counties may be eligible for services. Kalamazoo Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Servicesprovide access to Substance Abuse and co-occuring treatment for Medicaid Recipients and those without insurance.
Our Access Center staff will help determine whether you qualify for our services. Once this has been determined, our staff will meet with you to select the type of services needed.
Cost for Services
Fees are based upon your ability to pay or your health insurance coverage. No one is denied services because of an inability to pay.
