As of 10/1/2003 Kalamazoo Community Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (KCMHSAS) is the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) for what we call the "Southwest Michigan Urban Rural Consortium". The state of Michigan's Department of Community Health (MDCH) contracts with Kalamazoo CMHSA Services to provide medicaid consumers mental health and substance abuse services to the counties of our affiliation. The following 4 county Community Mental Health Programs are all CARF accredited.
Kalamazoo CMHSA Services is also the Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency (SACA) for a 5 county region. Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Barry, Branch, and Van Buren counties are covered by our SACA.
