Psychiatric Services for Youth at KCMHSAS

The Psychiatric Clinic provides individualized assessment and treatment by a psychiatrist. This is a medical doctor who has specialized training in treating mental illness and youth with serious emotional and cognitive disorders.

Services Available to You at Psychiatric Services:

  • Assessment/evaluation
  • Medication and monitoring (weekly, monthly, or as necessary) by a team of health care professionals. This service requires active participation by the family and youth in taking the medication as prescribed and keeping appointments.
  • Assistance with accessing financial and other benefits to help you afford medicines or other treatments
  • Education, information, and classes on a broad variety of health and wellness issues
  • Coordination of your care with other people or providers (for example doctor, case manager, family members) with your permission

How do I receive services? The first step to receiving services is to contact our Access Center. The staff at the Access Center will do an initial screening to determine what services you qualify for and connect you to those services.

Cost for services Fees are based upon your ability to pay or your health insurance coverage. While no one is denied services based on their financial situation, there may be a waiting list in place to receive non-Medicaid covered services.
